Steam (pronounced [(e) Stim]) is a digital video game distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used both by small independent developers and large software corporations for the distribution of videogames and related multimedia material. In order to enjoy all these services, it is necessary to be registered in the service by creating a free account, which linked video games purchased by the player. These games can be both the games that are offered for the purchase on the platform itself as certain games purchased in physical stores.
It is already known that not all games of your Steam library on Valves handheld PC called Steam Deck will run. To make life easier for you, Valve is currently testing the entire Steam library and classifies the games regarding their compatibility. Steam games are classified in four categories
Which classifications will give it? Depending on how compatible a game with the Linux-based Steam OS and Proton is, the games are divided into four categories. These are immediately recognizable by different symbols at the respective game title:
Verified: The game works flawlessly on the Steam Deck. Playable: You must manually adjust some settings to run the title on Steam Deck. These include, for example, the use of the touchscreen for navigation. Not supported: The game does not work on the steam deck. These include, for example, VR titles such as Half Life: Alyx . Unknown: Valve has not been able to check the game yet.
In order to achieve the category verified, the games must work properly with regard to their input, seamlessness, display and system support. Directly visible: If you open the store on the Steam Deck, you will first display only games classified in the Verified category. To indicate the other categories, you have to change the tab.
